The Welsh Baccalaureate is a full A level. It is worth 120 points for university.
It is compulsory for all 6th form students at Bryn Hafren and is accepted by employers and by most Universities across the UK including Oxford.
Registration forms will be available on the GCSE results day; and on the main registration day in September.
If you would like to stay on but are concerned that you may not achieve the results that you are aiming for : You should seek advice from the 6th form staff in order to work out an individual program which may include a BTEC course and a work skills course, these courses would give you additional GCSE’s and provide a foundation to continue to higher levels.
Resits in Mathematics, English and Science may be available for those students wishing to improve.
5 or more GCSE passes at grade C or above is normally an automatic entry into the Barry 6th form.
To register for the Barry 6th Form you will need to fill in a registration form and select your subjects from the
option form.
Please attend the registration day on the morning of the first day in September when school restarts after the summer break.
Applicants from other schools always welcome.
Please see the link above for additional information on the subjects on offer in the Barry 6th Form.
The information sheets can be viewed and downloaded in PDF format.
The option form is provisional. It may be changed before September.
