At Bryn Hafren we offer A/S and A level physics.

We follow the OCR specification with modules in forces, waves, electricity and in year 13 we follow a health physics option which is very popular and pupils enjoy learning about numerous medical physics applications.

Optometry, radiology, ultrasound and cancer treatment are just some of the topics studied.

We have achieved good results and the pupils have benefited from the respect given to this topic from universities and colleges.

Pupils get the opportunity to gain marks through coursework investigations and benefit from lots of practical experience throughout the course.

Past successes include a student winning a national competition and visiting NASA for ten days and pupils taking part in the Institute of Physics Paperclip competition where they presented a Physics topic to a panel of judges using only household objects.
